Curse of the Statue
An inherited effigy, a funeral in the rain, and a dog that knows things it shouldn’t. A serial comic drawn in full color, two pages at a time, whenever the night’s long enough.
The solo workshop of Scott Foster — independent comics, animated shorts, pocket-sized games and other gothic oddities. Things are never just ‘good enough’ around here.

An inherited effigy, a funeral in the rain, and a dog that knows things it shouldn’t. A serial comic drawn in full color, two pages at a time, whenever the night’s long enough.

Leap like a Machiavellian frog into an old manor full of handsome assassins. Clues, deduction, the third-degree — find the guilty one before they burn you.

A cursed short. Ink-on-paper traditional animation, nine months of nights.

You are a revenant. Strike down the host of a diminutive wizard and free the last living fairy. Android · free to play.

A character co-created with Frank Quitely, reborn as a short. Moody & mid-century.

A cosmic love letter in eight pages. The newest thing on the table and the one I’m most nervous about.

Our annual holiday short. A small witch, a stranger cat, and a very old neighborhood.

Reflex game with a cruel streak. Hand-drawn enemies, un-kind difficulty curve.

Sequel. Louder, dumber, prettier.

Exactly what it sounds like. A skeleton with a serve you won’t forget.

A short that started as a sketch in a library margin. The longest thing I’ve finished.

The comic that Racy began as. Co-created with Frank Quitely, inked slowly, in spite of everything.
This little operation is my bivouac for unconventional methods, mixed with a dash of crazy commitment. Every project here is at a different stage — some shipped, some fermenting, some buried under drawings of what they could be.
Everything on this website was made, drawn, coded, animated, scored, re-drawn, second-guessed, and eventually released by the same person. That’s the whole pitch. I don’t know another way to make things.
If any of this inspires you to start something of your own — don’t quit. You may invent a cookie that cures obesity and boosts intelligence. Stranger things have happened in this workshop.
